The challenge

Manual B2B order process with 4-hour cycle times. No digital catalogue for 200+ vendors. Zero order visibility.

Context

UrbanFoods distributes packaged and fresh foods to 200+ vendor accounts across Chennai. Orders moved through email, phone and intermediary brokers — a 4-hour cycle that broke at scale. There was no digital catalogue and zero visibility into what each vendor had ordered last quarter.

Our approach

Multi-tenant SaaS with vendor-scoped data

We designed the platform multi-tenant from day one — each vendor sees their catalogue, pricing tier, credit limit and order history without seeing others. Schema-per-tenant chosen for data-isolation requirements.

Automated ordering and inventory sync

Vendors place orders in-app or via WhatsApp Business API; orders flow into a fulfilment workflow with real-time inventory deduction, packing slips and dispatch confirmation.

Analytics that drove repeat orders

Cohort analytics surfaced which vendors were lapsing and why. Targeted re-engagement campaigns and dynamic pricing tiers lifted repeat-order rates 38% in Q1.

The result

Multi-tenant SaaS platform with digital catalogues, automated ordering workflows, and real-time inventory sync.

Order cycle time cut from 4 hours to 18 minutes. 200+ vendors onboarded in the first quarter after launch.
